This is one of those goodies that the Amazon Fairy puts into the free bin occasionally, the ones that make you think, "Hey, you know, I actually would've paid $.99 for this, and I got it free!"I was happily surprised by the driving beat and interesting rhythm, the vaguely Lennonish vocals, and the unusual chord changes (a big plus in a world where it seems everyone uses the same chord progressions ad nauseam). Really, it deserves a listen from anyone with an open mind. 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful Interesting influences, This review is from: Crystal Sounds (MP3 Download) This is pretty good.I hear a "Moody Blues" influence, a "John Lennon" influence, and the vocals also kind of sound like David Gates from the old 70's band "Bread". If they take the right road they'll be going places, if not they'll fade into the abyss of bands who took the wrong direction. I've got my fingers crossed and am rooting for them. 8 of 10 people found the following review helpful Just downloaded, just listened, really annoying, By This review is from: Crystal Sounds (MP3 Download) First off, I think this song was excellently recorded and engineered. I think the vocalist has a bright future, but I did not like the way he slid from phrase to phrase instead of moving cleanly. I don't think a singer must have the clarity and crispness of Pavarotti in order for me to like his work, but I think this singer's performance was really smarmy. If that was the singer's intended style I think he carried it off well, even if I didn't enjoy it. I offer my comments as criticism, not as... Read more |
