Nothing is done here that hasn't been done before. There's nothing at all innovative, or purely original. But here's the thing.It's not trying to be any of these things. This sampler caters to a specific audience. Speaking as a dedicated member of that audience, I enjoyed it. None of these hit the list of my favorite songs, none of them made a raving fanatic out of me, but I still really liked it. I even got pretty excited about some of them. Personally, I thought all these bands were talented. Their material isn't unique, but in all honesty, if you go looking for a perfect state of inspired uniqueness among music labels, you're going to be severely disappointed. Sadly, that's the way it is. Don't get me wrong, I'd have been thrilled to discover something wonderful and different. But just because it's not present doesn't mean you should turn your nose up immediately. None of these... The songs on this collection range from hard rock and heavy stoner rock to various types of metal, including death metal, thrash and some cool Viking/folk type stuff.
