Confident vocal and band. Repeats 'You're a God damn fool and I love you' a lot during this song. Guitar vocal and band. Nice song.Say Hi play Devils. Quirky vocal over drum and stealth band. I put this song on one of my driving in my car best of the free Amazon stuff cd's more for a change of pace and tone but still love it. Neat 2 mins 20. The Wooden Birds play Two Matchsticks. Great Indie song. Mild relevant band playing mostly guitar behind nice simple vocal. Track 4 Israeli Caves from Maps & Atlases. Different vocalist and band play well together. Pretty cool Indie Pop song. Ra Ra Riot play Shadowcasting. Not a fan of the singer, band sound great and song moves along fine. You will like it. Pearly Gate Music playing Big Escape are next. Early California garage band feel w/unexpected Monkees vibe, simple song, singer and feel. Painful sound effect while they escape. I don't care... Indie & alternative rock, some are more mellow acoustic while others are harder rocking. Burned to a CD this is perfect music for a home party, driving long distances with fantastic music for company, pretty much any activity, or just laying back with the headphones on. Wow to a few of these songs, yawn to others, By bluemoon1972 (St. Paul, MN (United States)) - See all my reviews This review is from: Barsuk Records Summer 2011 Amazon MP3 Sampler (MP3 Download) Man, I love David Bazon. As a fan of St. Paul's own 89.3 The Current, I've been able hear one of his other songs on a semi-regular basis, and was pleased to get this one free. Loved all the songs on this sampler with the exception of the two Ra Ra Riot songs (the second of their tracks, the remix, sounded pretty much exactly like Dirty Projectors, but not as good). The Phantogram song and the David Bazon song are the standouts, for sure. Phantogram made my heart beat faster, it's so good! |
