I went thru, 801, 802 and most recently 803 shoes. I loved the comfort and stability of the shoes. When my last pair of 803s started to reach end of playing life, I went online to get another pair. No more 803s, now it was 804s. Since there is not a New Balance store where I now live (I used to live near one so I could do try on the new shoes), I just ordered a pair. After all, the shoe had not changed much thru at least three ititerations and I had loved it every time. It was comfortable, gave good support and was very stable. Well, I got the 804s and quickly noticed that they were way different. They were much narrower thru the forefoot both inside and outside and did not seem to give the same support or comfort. I gritted my teeth and played with them anyway. What a mistake. Within two weeks, I was hit with Plantar Fasciitis. The shoes have gone into the Salvation Army box,... These new 804's don't seem to have the same level of cushion support or arch support as the 803's so they aren't as comfortable. I need a wide shoes, and other name brand tennis shoes do not understand what wide means. The MC804 fits like a glove, there was no break in at all, usually my right foot is a little pinched until brake in width wise with other brands, not with New Balance. I use them for Zumba and they perform great, very comfortable, I would recommend them to anyone looking for tennis shoes. |
