(Health and Beauty) When I first tried this, I had NO expectations that it would help. I was quite skeptical, to be honest. I've used narcotic pain relievers several times a day for almost 10 years now, due to a lumbar disc problem at L4-L5 (plus the usual problems with surrounding discs). Nothing but the drugs, ice, and rest have ever helped.This helps. Not permanently, but it definitely helps. Unlike some other reviewers, when the Kool 'N Fit is first sprayed on my back I experience it as a wonderful cool blast. For MY back, cool is good. It seems to have a numbing effect on the skin and somehow on the disc and nerve generated pain as well. For me, this lasts for 30 minutes or more. Positive: It works. I use it several times a week and an 8 ounce bottle has lasted for about 5 months. Negatives: I don't know how this works. It bothers me that I don't understand how it works. It also does have an odor (menthol-ish), but the odor's not as strong as products...
