So here we are again. After an extended Hiatus and the loss of a pivotal band member the Chilis have released their 10th studio effort following the behemoth that was "Stadium Arcadium". Is it good? The short answer is yes. If you want to listen to some new Chilis songs and are on the fence about this one then hop off and go buy it!. To the rest of you, let me tell you why it rocks through the power of story:

I have always been a huge Chilis fan. I have been an even bigger John Frusciante fan. From the first time I heard him play guitar when I was a kid, to watching him live on stage standing two feet away while he played under the bridge, I have loved the man. He's the reason I picked up a guitar for the first time and has been a consistently huge influence on my life.

So the first time he left the band I was devastated, when Dave Navarro took over I disowned the Chilis and focused on John's solo career. The energy in one hot minute was all wrong; it didn't feel... Read more

This is probably my most-anticipated album of recent memory. Considering Stadium Arcadium, By The Way, and Californication are still in regular rotation (I actually just started going backwards; downloaded from here Blood Sugar Sex Magik, since I've never actually owned it, in seething impatience for this thing to be released) I could simply not wait to wrap my ears around it.

I'm the type of music listener who tears apart an album. I know that while I may be immediately grabbed sonically it might not hold up with repeated listens. If I love an album I'll basically keep it on repeat for 3 months. I know I'm not the only one.

There are those albums (what do we call them anymore? This is my second or third time buying an "album" that's not a physical product) that the opposite happens. On initial listen you're less than impressed. "This is nothing I haven't heard before" or "eh." But then something happens. You find a day later your brain is singing to you, and you... Read more

Everytime I buy a new Red Hot Chili Peppers CD, I "brace" myself that it probably won't be as good as their last release. EVERY TIME, I'm wrong! When I was "preparing" myself for I'm With You - same thing. I was totally blown away (again). I am a die-hard John Frusciante fan, but this is an excellent CD! As with all RHCP CDs, your favorite songs will change from week to week. That's why you end up listening to their CDs for...well YEARS...or until their next release. Their formula of "each song is completely different in writing, overall form, & performance, than the other songs" - seems to work for these guys. Unless you despise great catchy music, you'll LOVE THIS CD !!!!!
