About six to 10 miles per day. I purchased these shoes to be my third pair in rotation. I am a 20+ year wearer of New Balance shoes for off pavement and trail walking and running. This particular shoe had a good, wide toe box, and was sufficiently roomy that my toes did not hit the end of the shoe. Both excellent features. However this shoe didn't begin to have enough padding for the ball of the foot or the heel. The inner sole and shoe construction are hard and the heel feels like it is completely unpadded. After six miles of early morning walking my feet were tired and I was beginning to have heel pain. I have never had heel pain before.
