The Moen DN8486BN fit my needs and did so with modern day style. The brushed nickel is attractive and matches nicely with the cabinets hardware that I got from another supplier. The construction is solid and the quality is excellent. The base is a cup and saucer design. An unfinished mount screws to the wall with two screws(drywall anchors included), then the base(cup) slips over the mount and tightens down with a small flat-head set screw. The ring is solid and has no slop between the ring and the base. The only thing I didn't like about this piece is the plastic sleeves that are between the base and the ring. The look and feel of the brushed nickel on this towel holder is really nice and the main reason I purchased it, as it also matches the ones already installed in my bathroom. However, as another reviewer mentioned, you will need one of those mini little flatheads "screwdrivers" towards the end of installation to attach the ring to the bracket. It took a little searching before I found one. (I think they should have given you one with this to make it easy for people who might not have one, or specified somewhere in the details section of amazon description but I guess for the price, that's asking a lot). Also, some might find the ring is a little stiff. It looks cheap. Also, you must have a *very* small screwdriver to install. A jewelry screwdriver basically. The matching towel bar had one of the tiny screws that was almost impossible to loosen--very annoying. Could be better designed & doesn't feel very substantial. |
